ENTRIES A RECORD
(By Our Special Reporter.) MASTERTON, This Day. The forty-third annual sfiow of the Masterton'A. and P. Association opened to-day iii dull weather. The entries total 2773, and are a record for the association. There is a fine yarding of sheep and cattle, and such is the quality of the exhibits that tho judges are sot a difficult task. Tho sheep entries total 077, as against 022 last year, and the cattle entries are '^Si, as against 269. Judging is proceeding this morning in practically all classes. .The champion and reserve champion Polled Angus bull and cow were exhibited by Mr. W. A. M'Farlano (Hastings). Mr. W. S._ Gallon (Dalcfield) exhibited the champion Friesian bull, and Mr. L. S. Gallon (Carterton) the reserve champion. Visitors to the show to-day included the Minister of Labour (the Hon. W. A. Veitch), Mr. G. R. Sykes, M.P., and Colonel T. W. M'Donald, M.P. Mr. H. S S. Kyle, M.P., is acting as one of the judges in the dog sections.
