BOARD'S MONTHLY MEETING
The City Ambnlaaee" Board met today. There were present: Messrs. 0. J. B. Norwood (chairman), W. Greig, M. Marks, G. Mitchell, D. 3. M'Gowan, J. W. Jack, J. H- WMttaker, E. Windley, S\ D. Oornwell, H. M. Jones, Dr. Boyd, and Mr. B. L. Button, who was welcomed by the chairman as a representative of the Hutt County Council. Apologies were received from. Messrs. C. M. Lnke, Mackenzie, and A. J. M'Curdy. Superintendent Boffe reported that 537 cases had b«en attended by the | ambulance during January, the ears running 5634 miles. These figures brought I the total number of eases to 13,288, and the total number of miles travelled to 141,877. During the month members of the honorary staff had given 174 hours of service. The funds had been increased by £60 3s 5d from the Band Sunday organised by the Wellington Bands' Association, and by £9, the proeeeda from Waikanae's first benefit. The local branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants had taken np the matter of a benefit at Paekakv rjki, Messrs. Mitchell, Marks, M'Gowan, Jack, Oornwell, and the chairman (exofflcio) were appointed a committee to discuss plans and business connected with the art union it is intended to run in order to increase the funds of the service. Cabinet has granted permission for the art nnion to be held for four months, from May to September. The payment of £410 to the Old Navals' Association for a new boat' house, at Seatoun, was approved, it having been arranged when the association vacated ita building in Jervois quay to the City Ambulance that a new boathouse should be provided for the association when it required it.
