WEDDINGS

An evening wedding solemnised at St. Thomas's Church, Ncwtown, recently, when the Eev. C. V. Eook officiated, was that of Eleanor May, second daughter of Mrs. E. A. Donaldson, and tho late Mr. T. H. Eyley, of Wellington South, to Lewsly. Frederick, oldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. W. L. Suridge, of Lyall Bay. Tho -bride, wearing a charming frock of white crepe satin! and radium lace, and carrying a bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern, entered tho church with her father. Her veil of fine embroidered tulJe was held in place by a coronet of pearls, and finished with oraiigc blossom. Misses Agnes Eylcy and Euby Minifie were bridesmaids, and were prettily frocked in mauve and lemon crepe de chine. Their large crinoline hats of the same tone were finished with flowers, and satin ribbon streamj ers and each-carried a bouquet to tone. Making a charming addition to the group, as flower-girls, were little Eona and Euvo Suridge, who were prettily frocked in shell pink and powder blue crepe de chinfe with .Dutch bonnets and posies to tone. Mr. Leslie Condliffe was best man, and Mr. Hugh Currie was grpomsman. The wedding reception was held at Berhampore, the guests being received by the mothers of the bride and bridegroom. .

An evening wedding of interest to Plimmerton and Wellington friends took place at .St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Wellington Terrace, when Nancy Amon, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Amon, "Eauui," Plimmerton, was married to Lea Woodbury, of Wellington, only son of Mr. F. Woodbury and the late Mrs. Woodbury, of Christchurch. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a charming model frock of shell pink moire silk, cut on straight lines and trimmed with small French flowers in pastel shades. Her veil, which formed a train, was of Indian hand-embroider-ed net, and was held in placo with buds of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of pink gladioli, belladonna lilies, and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. G. Eobieson, as matron of honour, and Miss Melva Woodbury as bridesmaid. Mrs. Eobieson's frock was of lavender satin, cut on straight lines and draped to one side and finished with a large hip posy of lavender and pink flowers and gold leaves, her hat being in deeper tones; her bouquet was of lavender, violet, and gold autumn-tinted leaves. Miss Woodbury's frock was of .pale daffodil inariette, with a lime greon hat and bouquet of daffodil shades, with gold and autumn-tinted leaves. Little Gay Nimmo was flower girl, in a. frock of shell pink frilled net, trimmed .with pale blue and a posy of blue and pink flowers. Mr. Norman Peaz (Wellington) was best man, and Mr. Clive Bartlett (Kimbolton) was groomsman. After tho ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Amon entertained their friends at a reception at the "Ritz," Manners street. Mrs. Amon wore a smart frock of navy anil lime marietto and small hat' to. tone. She carried a bouquet 'of deep cream roses, lemon stattice, and , autumn leaves. Mrs. Bellamy (Christchurch), aunt of the. bridegroom,, was in black marietta and lace and a black hat, and carried a'bouquet of crimson roses.and carnations. After tho reception the bride and bridegroom left for a motor tour, the bride wearing a dainty frock of floral georgette in shades of rose and grey made with a deep shoulder cape, and small grey liat. Their future home will be in Wellington.
