A NEW COURSE

PALMERSTON RAILWAY LAND

(By Telegraph.) ' (Special to "The Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Day. It has not taken Palmerston North long to find a new use for the muchdiscussed railway deviation. It is to be made into a golf course. Tho Hokowhitu links havo become overcrowded, and it has been evident for some time that a new club was necessary.

Last evening a well-attended meeting decided to form a club to.be known as the Palmerston North Club.

It was agreed to accept the terms offered to lease the grounds at tho deviation, where a nine-hole course will bo laid down immediately, and will be ready for use in April of this year. It was stated that already 150 members were assured.

The election of officers resulted: — Patron, Mr. J. Linklater, M.P.; president, Mr. W. S. Fell; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. D. Oley, D.'Morrison, J. C. Young, and G. Shannon; secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. J. Roberts; committee, Messrs. R. M'Murray, C. W. Yortt, C. G. Swallow, P. O. Skoglund, R. M. M'lnnes, W. Browning, and W. Rodden; hon. auditor, Mr. W. T. Penny.
