WOOL SALES
POSITION IN DOMINION
LONDON", 13th February. The New Zealand exporters' section of the British Wool Federation met at Bradford to consider a cable message from the New Zealand Wool Buyers' Association, stating that wools are being withheld, brokers' catalogues being only about 50 per cent, of the allocation. The association suggested certain methods combating the action of the brokers, and asked for the views of the federation members on the subject. The federation unanimously decided to send the following reply: "A fully-attend-ed meeting of the federation unanimously re-affirms its previous decision against an extension of the selling season, and urges the utmost pressure on the Belling brokers to offer not less than twenty thousand bales per sale. Should the brokers' proposals involve an extension of the season beyond 16th April, the Wool Federation desires to register an emphatic protest; and the selling brokers must accept full responsibility and take the consequences."
(Received 15th February, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 14th February. Although it is impossible to state the actual amount of wool for the sales on 18th March, as the list does not close till 11th March, it is roughly estimated that about 190,000 bales will be available, including 25,000 Puntas.
