SPEEDWAY RACING

MEETING ON MONDAY.

An attempt on the record for foiir laps' is to be made by Frank Pearce at the Kilbinvio Speeclway on Monday night, and in order that the track will bo in tho right condition for the noted | Australian rider the event is to take place at the outset of tho meeting. This will be but one of many broadsiding features, as, in addition to first and second class handicap events, there is to bo an international scratch race as well as a contest for the Silver Gauntlet. Australia will be represented in the international event by Prank Pearce, Lionel van Praag, Max Graham, and Eric Whittle (who ia making his first appearanco here), while New Zealand's representatives will be Wally Kilmister, .Tim Wilkinson, Eddie Naylor, Bill Harvie, and Peter M' Ghee. There will bo three heats and a final in this contest, which should be of a very thrilling nature. Five riders have been selected to compete with P. Phillips (holder) for the Silver Gauntlet. Pearce's record-breaking attempt is to bo made at 8 o'clock. Other information regarding tho meeting is published elsewhere.
