THE KING'S MESSAGE
FAITH IN PROGRESS (Received 13th February, 2 p.m.)' LONDON, 12th February. The King, in a message to Convocation in reply to an address presented at the close of 1929, said that he rejoiced to observe the spirit animating the clergy in reference to the difficulties associated with the revision of the forms ordered for" public worship. "May tho continued exercise in forbearance and patience reuder possible, under God's guidance* a solution of this grave, perplexing problem. I fervently join in the prayers for the increase of the influenco of religion and a renewal of faith. The progress_which is being' made with the promotion of Christian unity is gratifying. I trust tho Lambeth Conference will contribute a further advance to the continuous development of measures securing international peace. _ It ha 3 given me profound satisfaction that the agreements which have been made, to rest on the sure foundation of the hearts and minds of the peoples by strengthening this spiritual basis of the churches throughout the world can give incalculable assistance to Governments, enabling still further progress to be made.
