UPPER HUTT COURT
Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Upper Hutt Magistrate's Court yesterday. ', Cycling at night without a light cost Arthur John Robertson ss. Dave Pretty was fined 10s for having no rear light on his motor truck, and 10s for having only one headlight. For not having a warning device on hiß motor-lorry, Eonald Mornington Doig was fined £1. On a charge of dangerous driving, William O'Neill was convicted and ordered to pay costs, the Magistrate remarking that it was not a very bad case. Margaret Hannah - Harvey proceeded against Sidney Corbett Harvey for separation, maintenance, and guardianship orders in respect of herself and two children. The Magistrate reserved his decision. Judgment for the plaintiff by defatilt was given in each of the following undefended civil cases:—William- C. Watson v. George Jackson, £9 16s and order for immediate possession; J. A. Hazelwood and Co., Ltd., v. E. W. Eoderique, £7 7s 2d; J. A. Hazelwood and Co., Ltd., v. James Dunn, £35 14s lid. On a judgment summons D. M'Aulay was ordered to pay T. Petersen 18s forthwith, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. ' j
