LODGE MEETINGS
Star of Wellington Lodge,- No. 12, 1.0. U.T., met recently, the Chief Templar, Sister G. Symington, presiding. Invitations to be present at the nest meeting ol the Pioneer and' Star of Newtowu Lodges were accepted. The reports of the retiring officers for the past term were delivered and the officers thanked, ftc& whichthe Lodge Deputy, Bro. Bimpson, assisted by Bros. J. Warren and G. Keckucll as installiug marshals, installed the officers, for the new quarter. Bro. J. Warren was recommended i'or the position of Lodge Deputy. The following standing committees were elected: —Representatives to District Lodge, regular: Bros. Harvey, I'rice', and Bradwell, Sisters Symington, Warren, and Trevelyon; alternate mem< hers: Bros. Simpson, Spillett, and J. Rowe, Sisters E. Nielsen, Mrs. Harvey, and Mrs. Nielsen; Juvenile Committee, Sisters X Nielsen, N. Wyatt, and Bro. Bradwell; Finance Committee (re-elected); harmony. Sisters.E. Nielsen, N. Wyatt, A. Wyatt, G. Symington, Bros. Vittskey and Bradwell. Greetings were-.received from Loyal Melrose, Star of Newtown Lodge, Bro. Cook (India), and the' Wanderers' Welcome Lodge (Ceylon). The report of the Harmony Committee was received and adopted with' a slight alteration. The customary votes of'thanks to the installing marshals and the visitors was given before the meeting closed. ' ■ -- St. Thomas's Temple, No. 4, 1.0. G.T., met at Newtown last week, the Superintendent, Sister G. Symington, assisted by the A.S.J.T.,*.Sister Mrs. Symington, having control of the Temple. . Bro. E. Mackay, ,C.T., was in the chair. After the usual opening, services the installation of officers i'or the present'term was proceeded with. Sister Mrs. Symington was the installing officer, assisted by Bro. Bradwell and Sister E. Nielsen as installing marshals. The following-officers were installed: Sister Thompson, C.T.; Sister Archer, P.C.T.; Bro. W." Mouat, V.T.; Sister Feasey, Chap.; 'Sister Collett, Sec; Sister Hazel King, A. See.; Bro. Cmidy, M.; Bro. S. Anderson, D.M.; Bro. Keid, t. Sec; Sister Purdie,- T.; Bro. Collett, Gd.; Bro. N. Thompson, Sent. Bros. Bradwell and Simpson delivered interesting addresses to members and imparted advice for the future good of the Temple.-Sister Adelaide Wyatt conveyed greetings from the Star of Wellington Lodge. Items were given by Bros. J.. Hodgetts, Potton, Vesey, and Sisters J. Hodgetts, Collett, a. Birss, Purdie, Cook, M. Birss, S. Ougkton, and Jean Birss. '. Court Lady Glasgow, No. S2Ol, A.0.F.; held its fortnightly meeting last week, P.C.R. Sister A. Morris presiding over; a fair attendance. Sister Russell was installed as S.B>, and P.C.R. Sister A. Halliday was presented with a P.C.R. neck ribbon and emblem by P.C.R. Sister H. Lawton. A hearty welcome was extended to P.C.R. Sister Orange, of Court Pride of Green-Island, Dunedin. N.G. Bro. F. J. Martin presided over the meeting of Loyal Mangatainoka Lodge, M.U., which was held recently. Accounts amounting to £6 were passed i'or payment. A letter of recommendation was granted a member who has left the district. P.G. Bro. H. A. Bick reported on the business transacted at the meeting of the District Management Committee. Two brethren were initiated. A Past Grand's emblem was presented to Bro. 11. Yewen. P.G. Bro. L. Angelini was appointed warden, and was duly installed. The annual meeting of Loyal Wellington Past Grands Lodge, Manchester Unity, was held recently, when Bro. W. P. Holt presided over a good attendance. Two members were advanced to the Past E.S. degree. One member received Past V.G. degree, and four were advanced to Past N.G. degree. Bro. K. Bell, D.G.M., assisted by Bro. R. K. Conper, D.D.G.M., Bro. E. 'W. Guise, D.S., Bro. A. C. Blair, P.D.G.M., Bro. W. Madely, P.D.G.M., and Bro. Wells, P.G., examining and conducting officers, held a purple lecture, when live past officers (including one sister) were advanced to the purple degree. The secretary read a statement of receipts and expenditure, showing a, fair balance to curry forward. It was decided to amend conditions for competition of the Kitual Shield and lodge officials aro to draw up the new conditions. Officers for the ensuing term were elected as follows: —Bro. W. B. 'Brown, president; Bro. C. W. Bland, vice-president; Bro. T. Lynneberg, lecture master; warden, Bro. G. Craddock; guardian, Bro. M'Greevy; conductor, Bro. A. T. Wainwright; judges, Bros. A. T. Wainwright, B. . Brickman, and C. W. Bland; auditors. Bros. C. G. Turner, P.D.G.M., and Bro. J. H. Kraft; secretary, Bro. R. K. Conper.1 The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Antipodean Lodge,.M.U., was held last week, Bro. .Berry, N.G., presiding. Three nominations for membership were received. Bros. C. J. Burnett and W. B. Moseley, P.G., were appointed to represent the lodge at meetings for card tournament, Oddfellows' Lodge versus Foresters, while Bro. Berry, N.G., ■ and Bro. Partridge, Y.G., will represent the lodge on the committee to make arrangements for the visit of Wiiirarapa Loclses;
