LAYALL BAY SCHOOL.
The monthly! meetings of the executive committee of 'the Lyall Bay Home : and School Associajion were resumed on Monday evening after the Christmas vacation. Mr. F. jVV. Boyd (president), was in the chair, aijd there was a good attendance. The treasurer (Mr. D. W. Olson) presented the financial statement showing a credit balance of £53 17s lid. It was decided to-closf the "bottle drive" at the end of- the wpek, and it is anticipated that an appreciable euro will be realised. It was announced that the school picnic would be held ion 26th February at Day's Bay, and it -was resolved to assist the school committee in raising the necessary funds, and hel|j in tlie management of the function. The secretary was instructed to write to Miss P. B. Jones (a member of the teaching stiff), sympathising with her in the injuries!sbe had received as a result of being Knocked down by a motorcar. The school committee is to be requested to make urgent representation to tbo Education Board to have the sanitary arrangements oE the school put in order.
