THE BRITISH PARTY A DEFINITE PURPOSE (From "Tho Post's" Representative.) LONDON, 12th December. Mr. A. Canham, secretary of the British National Union, has been giving the newspapers some further details regarding the coming tour of representative British farmers. Gratification is expressed that Peterborough and district will bo represented. Sir Kiehmond and Lady Winfrey will be in the delegation. The former is well known in connection with his work on the Small Holding Movement, and he formerly was in the Ministry of Agriculture. Sir Richard has publicly notified that if any of bis friends in the Eastern counties havo relatives irj New Zealand, and. will send him their addresses ho may have the opportunity of calling on them. Sir Richard anil Lady Winfrey propose-to return with the Canadian parly via Vancouver, in order to visit friends in Vancouver Island, Calgary, Ecgina, Ottawa, and Moutroalj ar.d expect to leave Montreal for England on 16th May. . Mr. Canham writes: "Tho tour has a definite Imperial purpose, and apart from its educational advantages, it will encourage and foster intercourse bctweeii the people of the Mother Country and their kinsfolk across the sea. The British "ational Union, under whoso auspices this tour has been organised, has no concern with tho politics or economics of any part of the Empire; it aims rather to create a feeling of unity and cordial relationship between the widely-scattered members of our point Empire. The union has abundant evidence that this work has borne most gratifying' fruit. By means of these tours, knowledge of the Empire has been spread, ideas have been exchanged, friendships formed, and British hospitality, whether in 'the Old Country or in the Dominions, has received an entirely new meaning.

"The union has under consideration a tour to Canada in the autumn of next year, and another to Australia at some future date; whilst in 1931 another tour of South African farmers to this country ia under contemplation."
