The Premier, Mr. T. K. Bavin,' has informed the Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. J. H. Seullin, that tho State Government is prepared to discontinue operations at Rothbury in tho evout of an agreement being arrived at which promised to bo satisfactory and permanent. The Federal Government is making £.7000 available immediately for relief to necessitous persons on tho coalfields.
