United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received 24th December, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 23rd December. In his forced landing in the marshes of Tripoli Mr. F. C. Chichester broke tho propeller of his 'plane and a front inter-plane strut. He will need to wait

for a new propeller, which De Haviland's arc sending through to Tripoli. This will take nearly a fortnight.

Chichester had drawn up a detailed schedule which allowed 1/3 0J houis' actual flying time from London to Sydney. He had prepared for his llight to, Australia for only three weeks. Before tho start ho pledged E. A. Jones, who gave him his first lesson, to secrecy. Apart from an extra petrol tank, the only special precaution was the installation of a collapsible rubber boat, with paddle and sail.
