After a mediocre opening, before a record crowd o£ jj ,' the widely-heralded fight ended suddenly, when Yon Porat, reaching for the elusive Britisher's body, landed a low plow Jack Dempsey, who was refereeing the light for charity, was uncertain lor a lew moments and urged Scott to go on but Scott slowly sank to the canvas, clutching his middle and grimacing It was apparent he was in pain. Dempsey lifted Scott like a baby, but the Britisher reiused to continue. He grovelled, and wepi as he was led to his stool.
