LIGHT HARNESS RACING
Reminder. Acceptances for the Auckland Trotting Club's Meeting close on Friday, at 5 p.m. Hooper's Auckland Team. The Lauriston trainer, O. E. Hooper, has King Pointer, Milo Minto, and Rel Huon engaged at the Auckland Trotting Club's Meeting at the end of the month. King Pointer iis engaged in the Cup, but he may not be forward enough to make tlie trip. King Pointer was in the New Zealand Cup, but he contracted a cold, which later developed into strangles, and he had to be thrown out of work a month prior to the big November race. Under the circumstances, King Pointer can hardly be at his best, but Hooper will go North with the other two pacers. Impressed the Critics. Regal Voyage, a winner at Ashburton on Saturday, is a useful type of five-year-old that may reach a lot better company than she met on Saturday. She has not done much racing, and her only other success in the past twelve months was in the Teviotdale Handicap of two miles at the Amberley Meeting, which race she won in 4min sCsec. Regal Voyage was bred by the well-known trainer B. Grice, who afterwards sold him to D. Withers, and the latter passed him on to his present owner. Logan Princess, dam of Regal Voyage, was also raced by Withers during last season and proved fairly useful. Regal Voyage is a good one on breeding, for Happy voyage, her sire, was one of the best horses ever raced in New Zealand, and Logan Princess was by Logan Pointer from a Prince Imperial mare. Miscellaneous. Another effort is to be made to train that fine pacer Away. The ex-Southlander is at A. G. Wilson's stable at New Brighton, and is at present standing up to his work satisfactorily. Eiffelton Lass, who finished thif'd to Rega! Voyage and Master Pointer in the Melrose Handicap at Ashburton on Saturday, is a six-year-old mare by Wildwood Junior, and is trained at Ashburton. When she was first raced she showed a good deal of promise,, but lost form last year, as she started ten times without winning any money. She now seems to be on the improve, and being a good stayer she may win a race over a journey, cor Se. who has recently gone into C b. Donald's stable, was started in the Melrose Handicap at Ashburton on Saturday, but he was not prominent. He cannot be ready for a two-mile race yet as has done very little work. Logan Brae, who is trained at Addington by W. J. Tomkinson, was started in both the trotting events at Ashburton, but he was never prominent in either event. Logan Brae will have to make a lot of improvement before he emulates the deeds of his brother, Logan Park
