MANAWATU AT THE WICKETS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, This Day. The Hawke Cup match between JManawatu, holders, and Hawkes Bay, challengers, was continued yesterday afternoon. Hawkes Bay were all out'for ICO, and when stumps were drawn owing to the failing light the holders had lost two wickets for 90. Details:— HAWKES BAY. First Inning^. The Hawke Cup match was resumed this morning. Manawatu, with two wickets down for 90, continued the innings, Galliehan and Norris, the not out men, batting freely. After half an hour's play the score waa 110 for two wickets. Gallichan and Norris continued to add runs till 12.45, when Galliehau was caught behind the wickets. Almost immediately afterwards Norris went lbw to Lowry, who had forsaken wicket-keeping for bowling. Cutler did not last long. Scores:— • MANAWATU. • First Innings.
