MINISTER'S STATEMENTS
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post.") 1 AUCKLAND, This Day. Mr. J. H. M'Kenzie, general secretary P. and T. Officers' Association, writes to the Press: "Publicity has been given to the statement that the Bay of Plenty Farmers' Union had received a letter from, the PostmasterGeneral stating that he did not propose - to increase the salaries in the- Post and Telegraph Department. This is contrary to what Mr. Donald has stated . , on several recent occasions to the Post and Telegraph employees in Auckland, ivbo have been led to believe their long '. overdue adjustment of salaries on the basis of value of services rendered to the community will shortly be reetfg- - nised. If the terms of thc'Postniaste'rGeneral's letter to the Farmers' Union are correctly xepoxted, what has the Postmaster-General to say in regard to his assurances to Post and Telegraph, employees?"
