SOVIET AMBASSADOR
EXPECTED IN LONDON
PALATIAL MANSION ACQUIRED
British Official Wireless.
RUGBY, Bth December.
Sunderland House, one of tho most palatial mansions in the West End of London, has been acquired by the Soviet Government as the official residence of M. Sokolnikoff, who recently was appointed Ambassador to Great Britain, and who is expected in London this week. As the King will be in residence at Buckingham Palace during the next ten days, it is probable that M. Sokolnikoff will present his credentials there early next week, possibly similtaneonsly with the presentation of credentials by Sir Esmond Ovey, the new British Ambassador at Moscow to the Soviet Government. Sir Esmond Ovey was to have left London en route for Moscow yesterday, but the cancellation of the Channel steamer services owing to storm necessitated a postponement
