FAIR WEATHEE

WARMER TEMPERATURES

The movement of an anti-cyclone towards New Zealand along a somewhat northerly course has caused a rise in barometric pressure. This rise is most pronounced in northern districts, and the anti-cyclone course has favoured south-westerly or westerly winds, which have been moderate to fresh. Scattered showers have fallen in the South Island and in the interior of the North Island, but otherwise the weather has, generally speaking, been fair to cloudy,- with temperatures on tho cool side. A frost was reported last night from one station in Central Otago.

Moderate to fresh south-westerly winds are forecasted to voer later to the north. Mainly fair weather with warmer temperatures may be expected although cloudy and showery condfr tions on the West Coast of the South Island will nater extend to western anfc southern districts generally.
