MAINTENANCE CASES
Maintenance cases in the Magistrates Court yesterday were dealt with by Mr E Page, S.M. .
For being £9 12s in arrears on an order made for support of his wife, Kenneth Vincent Reid was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as he. pays £1 15s a week. Leslie W. Shaw was sentenced to one month's imprisonment for being £9 2s in arrears on an order made in respect of his son. He will be released on payment of the arrears.
On a charge of being £2 10s in arrears on an order made for the support of his child, Charles Hill, junior, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, to be released on payment of the arrears, together with £1 Is solicitor's fee. "This man won't pay until summonses are issued agmst him," said counsel about are issued against him," said counsel about ered to pay £1 Is solicitor's fee, iv default seven days' imprisonment. Arrears amounting to £84 10s in respect to an order made in favour of his wife were admitted by John Edwards, who was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, warrant to be suspended as long as he pays £2 a week.
"He has been summoned on about ten previous occasions," said Senior-Sergeant Ward about Edward Roy Hawkey, who is £4 17s 6d in arrears on an order made for the support of his child. Hawkery was sentenced to two months' imprisonment, to be released on the payment of the arrears. He was also fined' £1.
Charged with being £7 13s 5d in arrears on an order made for the maintenance of his child, Robert F. Seinple was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, to be released on payment of'the arrears. •
Hilda Graves was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment, to be released on payment of the arrears, £4 13s, owing ou an order made for the support of her son.
