UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL

The fortnightly meeting of the "Upper Hutt Borough Council was heia last night, the Mayor (Mr. P. Bobertsoh) presiding. There were also present: Councillors E. W. Cottle, A. Howell, J. Blewman, W. Greig, M. Hood, G. H. Guthrie, and J. O. Duff. The Wellington Free Ambulance and the Upper Hutt Plunket Society wrote thanking the council for donations. Permission to screen pictures on Christmas night was granted to a local theatre-owner. Letters were received from the i Transport Department and the Minister | of Transport concerning chiefly the I need for co-operation between the Government and local bodies to obtain uniformity of speed limits throughout the Dominion. The matter was referred to the Bylaws Committee.
