POINTS FROM SPEECHES
LAST NIGHT'S MEETINGS
( With tho Hutt by-election only a week off, interest in the prospects of the respective candidates is increasing. Last night the United Party candidate, Mr, J. Kerr, spoke at Alicetown; Mr. Harold F. Johnston (Beform), at Koro Koro; and Mr. Walter Nash (Labour) at Eastbourno. To-night the Minister of Education (the Hon. H. Atmore) will address a meeting in support of Mr. Kerr at Lower Hutt; tho Leader of the Opposition (the Bight Hon. J. G. Coates) will speak at Eastbourne; and the Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party (Mr. H. E. Holland) will deliver a speech at Moera.
