LAMB MARKET FIRMER.
Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 6th December. Frozen meat quotations (prices on a "delivered" basis, i.e., including storage charges cartage, market tolls, etc.):—North 'island down and crossbred lambs, none offeringiSiorth Island second quality lambs average 30-31, 7d per lb; best North Island wethers, under 48, 6 5-8 d; 48-56, 6%d; 56----64 6%d; 64-72, 6d; North Island ewes under 48, 4 5-8 d; 48-56, 4%d: 56-64 4 <J-SM-Xn 4 Md; New.Zealand.prime ox beef, lbU-£ZO, none offering. As compared with last weeks cables advices, quotations for lamb and wethers are unchanged, and ewes are l-8d per lb higher. The market for lamb lsirm but quiet, and values generally show little change. The market for mutton is steady.
