PRICE OF WHEAT
UNITED STATES MARKETING
WASHINGTON, 6th December. The Secretary of Agriculture, Mr. Hyde, has issued his annual report, in which it is stated that although the present seasou's wheat crop is considerably smaller than that of 1925, it may return 'the growers a larger income, since prices are substantially higher so far this season than they were during the corresponding period |of the previous season. "The reduction in our wheat output is offset by the increased carry-over from the previous season. -The income on wheat depends upon the world situation. The world wheat production outside China and Russia in 1929 is approximately 3,400,000.000 bushels or 500.000,000 bushels less than in 1928. It is indicated that the reduction'has raised the world price level."
