BUTTER AND CHEESE
EASIER PRICES ON THE WEEK
The butter market is reported by the Dairy Board to be steady, and that for cheese is described as "quiet." Prices ruling for New Zealand salted butter are 162s to 16Ss per cwt, as compared with 164s to 170s last week and 176s to 180s for this time last year. New Zealand butter in store in the United Kingdom is 3700 tons, or 00 toils less than at Oth December last year. Cheese, New Zealand white, is quoted at 91s to 92s per cwt, and coloured 90s to 91s, a fall of 2s to 3s on the week, and as compared with 96s to 9Ss and 97s to f)Ss respectively at 6th December, 1928. The cheese market is reported slow." Quantities in store in the United Kingdom are 21,000 crates, as compared with 43,000 crates at this time last year.
