Sir William M'Lintock, the prominent chartered accountant, has'been appointed to advise the Government in ita inquiries on a scheme for the public control and co-ordination of London's passenger transport. His duties will be of an actuarial character. The value of London's passenger traffic undertakings is generally estimated at over £100,000,000. Sir AY. .M'Lintock will ascertain tho financial possibilities and liabilities of all the companies concerned, and to report to the Minister of Transport. It is probable that the work will take a considerable time, but the Minister has indicated that the Government contemplates no further action until a thorough investigation of tho financial aspect of the scheme has been completed.
