The company has selected an island" site fronting Manners street, and bounded by Bond street on the north, Farish street on the east, and St. Hill street on the west, with a total fronts age of approximately 600 ft, and an area of 3800 square i'eet. On this site a sis-floor building is to be erected. There will be display windows on all sides excepting St. Hill street; and excepting that of showroom space will total 55,200 square, feet, all naturally lighted by day. There will be sis floors in all, to be served by lifts as well as stairways of easy grade. The top floor will be reserved for games and assemblies. Special attention has been paid to the planning, equipment, furnishing, and decoration of the tea rooms and restaurant, waiting-room, and lounge. A prominent feature will be made of what is called "the bargain basement," now a recognised important department in the great west end drapery stores of London. The plan of the elevation of the _ building suggests dignity and simplicity. The estimated cost of land and building is £180,000. Preliminary expenses are estimated at £1500. No shares except for. cash are to be offered to promoters, directors, or any other person or persons.
