ENGLISH RESOLUTION
OTAGO UNION'S OPINioN
(By Te]egraph..-^Press Association"!): DXJKEDIN,.This Day. A meeting of the' committee-of the Ofcago Rugby Union was 'held last night. The chairman'(Mr. W. Brown) said the business to be considered: was a request contained in a letter from, the New Zealand Rugby Union. The 7 letter read as follows:-— —- - • '' The English Rugby .. Football Union (Twickenham) has forwarded to us a cony of a resolution, which was adopted by the International Board last March, and. which leads: 'As a condition precedent to the consideration of the creation of a consultative body under the supreme control of this board, all Dominion unions should agree to adopt the laws of the game as framed by the International Board.'"" The New Zealand Union a<sked; the Otaeo Union whether it was agreeable": to accept the condition contained; in the resolution, which course of action was recommended by the English Union After a lengthy discussion the following resolution was carried: '"'ln the opinion of thisi,committee,;it is'desirable in the interests* of the game-of Rugby Union, football throughout "the Empire that an' Imperial Advisory Board should be created, this body to be the supreme authority in matters concerning Imperial Rugby football. As the proposed consultative body would be under the control of the International Board, which is composed of representatives from V the English Scottish, Irish, arid Weish ' Unions this committee is of the opinion that nothing would be gained by the cieatiou of a body eueh as is suggested bxthe resolution of the International Board. This committee is,: further, of the opinion that it is desirable, that uniforni rules should be played throughout the-Empiie." : -■■•■:.■:..
