PRIVY COUNCIL ISSUE

ATTITUDE TO BE TESTED

CASE ON APPEAL

United Pres3 Association—By Electric Telo-

eraph—Copyright.

LONDON, 4th December,

The Irish Free State's attitude towards the Privy Council is likely shortly to be tested owing to a pending appeal in which the Bray Urban Council is concerned.

Bray is a seaside resort near Dublin. During a carnival in 1920 the council's band allegedly played selections from "Lilac Time," also an old-time waltz, "Venus on Earth." Tho society holding the performing rights brought an action for aii_ infringement of the copyright and won the case in tho local Court, but the Supreme Court reversed tho decision, hence the appeal to the Privy Council.
