AUSTRALIANS OUT OF FORM

The Australian swimmers made the final appearance at the, carnival at the tepid baths to-iiight.
In the BSO yards scratch event Ryan (Australia) was defeated by G. Bridson by 18 yards. Bridson, who is the Now Zealand middle-distance champion, covered the distance in llmin 21 2-ssoc, breaking D. 1\ Lindsay's New Zealand record by,4 l-ssec. Kyau swam better than on the previous night, but his form was nothing approaching his best time for the distance, which is llmin 2see>. The 00 yards invitation scratch race resulted in J. P. Parrell (Auckland sprint champion) defeating Griffiths (Australia) by a touch in 26sec. It was considered by many that Raper (Auckland), who was placed third, won the race, but as he finished under the judgee ho was not noticed.
