PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
Eddie Leonard, the minstrel man, is seen and heard, as the star of "Melody Lane," an all-dialogue and music picture, which opened "m V"\ ,"' tho Paramount Theatre. Melody Lane," a story of back-stage vaudeville life,, was written by. Jo Swerling whose play, "Kibitzer" was a recent sensational success. In New -York and marks Leonard's bow as. a motion picture star. Opposite Leonard appears Josephine Dunn, who will be rememfcered; for her performance with Al Jolson in •Tho .Singing Fool." Miss Dunn has the role •f Leonard's wife whilo tho two are struggling • long in three-a-day vaudeville. Besides old favourites of his like "Here I Am" and "Oh, Didn't It "S •' i-Z^S^Zi sings three new son 8 H«s. Beautiful," "Sugar Cane Round My Door" and "The Bogie Man Am Hero," which he wrote with .the collaboration of Jack Stern especially for the picture. "Beautiful" is the theme song sung by Leonard to MiSs Dunn and their child In the picture. Little Jane La Verne, who was the child "Magnolia" of f>now Boat."
