THE CARILLON
PLAYER FOE OPENING
CEREMONY
In a letter to the Carillon Society the High Commissioner elect, the Hon. T. M. Wilford, K.C., stated that he would do all he could to facilitate the engagement of the best player available for the opening ceremony, which is expected to take place in New Zealand, possibly by nest Armistice Day (11th November, 1930). In this connection the name of Mr. Clifford Ball, the well-known carilloneur to Mr. Cadbury's carillon at Bourneville, has been freely mentioned.
Word has been received that with the assistance of the Carillon Society here, Miss Gladys Watkins'lms decided to continue her studies under M. Denyn, of the Malines Carillon. Miss AVatkins already has been under the tuition of that famous master for six months, and it is expected that with another twelve months' study she will be able to do credit to herself and the local carillon whenever she may be called upon.
