RUGBY, 4th December.
. Italy yesterday dispatched her great contribution of art treasures to the forthcoming exhibition of Italian art at Burlington House, London. There were 300 pictures, of which 230 are old and 70 modern, together with a •wonderful collection of statues, old furniture, lace, ivory, a D d bronzes. Fourteen specially constructed steel vans 'containing the cases wero taken under escort from Milan to Genoa, where the contents were transferred to a specially chartered ship, Leonardo da -Vinci' which later sailed for London, accompanied by naval tugs. The exhibition, which opens on Ist January, will last until Bth March. la addition to Italy's great contribution King George and other British art lovers are lending works from their private collections, and the United fatates, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, and other countries are contributing to the exhibition.
