"INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE"

CHRISTOHUKCII, This Day. "There is not sufficient detail given for me to make any comment on the matter," said Dr. I. C. Macintyre, the Medical Director of the Tuberculosis Institutions, when asked his opinion last evening of the Auckland clergyman's claim.
"I would, however, be quite prepared to give it a trial, provided I was satisfied that it would do no harm to the patient. Frankly," he said, "I am at a loss.to see why it should bo kept a secret. If it were some very complicated process there would be some reason for its discoverer restricting its manufacture tp himself, so that it would bo made in a proper manner. Dr. Maeiutyre said he could think of no herb growing in New Zealand which Had the properties claimed for the one which _ Mr. Ward used. It was the first time he had heard of Mr. Ward's cine, which must havo been kept a very strict secret.
. I can quite understand that, however, he said; "they would not like to announce it before they had fully proved its worth."
