ROADS TO WESTPORT

ADVICE TO TRAVELLERS

The secretary of the Buller Progress League points out that tourists need not fear that communication by road with Westport is impracticable. The road from Nolsou, although somewhat longer than before, is in good order and safe for traffic. The coastal road from Greymouth to Westport is open, but regular services cannot be maintained, except in favourable weather, owing to lack jf bridges. The scenery on this road is without equal, and services are maintained in good weather. It is anticipated that tho Toad via Lyell will be open to traffic in February next. It will bo one of the most interesting journeys in the Dominion, as evidence of the vast carthquako will bo visible throughout.
