RICCARTON TRACK NOTES
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The conditions were unpleasant for the early.work at Riccarton yesterday morning. Following on heavy rain overnight, there were frequent showers, which interfered with training operations. The inside o£ the trial grass track was dead, though not really heavy. Honour and Jaleux did useful work together, while Praise worked alone. They went the reverse way. F. D. Jones worked Paquito and Marsham the reverse way, the pair doing a mile in lmin 49sec. The brother to Limerick, Dunraven, and Whatnot sprinted half a mile in 54sec, while Arikiwai and Ciay Crest did five furlongs in lmin 7sec. Count Cavour had The Viscount asi a mute in a working gallop over seven furlongs. Ball Dress and Straightcourse sprinted along the back in company. Amor occupied SSsee in a very easy half-mile spin. Bladin and Shipshape sprinted half a mile in 52. 3-ssec. Tcheka finished better than Subdivision at the end of five furlongs, run in lmin 7 l-ssec. Tariff took 52 2-ssec for half a mile, Uonrose going over the same ground in 51 2-oscu. Dutch Money ran six furlongs in lmin IS 2-osee, a useful effort. Don Jose covered a mile in lmin SOscc, Fair Exchange six furlongs in lmin 22sec, while Silver Coot sprinted' half a mile along the back in 52sec, Paper Boy taking 53see. Hoylake reeled off seven furlongs in lmin 32 2-Ssec. It was a good gallop, as he did it comfortably. Rarielagh and Solgele registered 51 3-5 see for half a mile along the back, a task which Arrowmir accomplished alone very smartly in 50 3-ssee. Pangolin occupied lmin 54see for a mile, but did it easily. Chiekwheat was going on well at the end of six furlongs with Nastori in lmin 20 2-ssec. Phastar was better than Nightdew at the end of six furlongs, run in lmin 20 2-ssec. Tc Awhina covered seven furlongs in hiiin 33 3-ssec, a useful performance, as .slie wuH going well. Buoyant covered a milo very comfortably in Imiii 4Sscc. Pahautanui occupied lmiu 21 2-osec for six furlongs. Danthonia (I. Tilson) gave a good display over three hurdles. Syd dOr (L. Evans) and Safety (I.
Tilson) jumped four hurdles in company. They gave a good exhibition, with, the I pace-on oil the way.
Proud Knight reeled off five 'furlongs in Imin o'sec.
Grand Acre and Gaslight occupied Imin 21scc for six furlongs.
