TOURIST TRAIN TRAFFIC.
The traffic to, Waitomo Caves and Tonganro National Park has reached such proportions as to justify the Railway Department, in making special arrangements to meet the convenience of passentahlL if resort- s- In the new timetable, which comes into operation on Bth December provision is made for the 7.5? a.m. Wellington-Auckland and the 7.53 a.m. Auckland-Wellington daylight Limited expresses to stop, at Hangatiki Station (for Waitomo Caves) and at National Park station (for Chateau Tongariro). The niglit Limited espressos leaving Wellington at 7,15 p.m. and Auckland at 7.10 p m on Sundays will also stop at National Park on Monday mornings. These additional trains will provide a very satisfactory service for both resorts. The foregomg, together' with a number of minor alterations to the railway services, are announced elsewhere in'this issue The 4.15 p.m. train to the Wairarapa has been accelerated to arrive Masterton a little earlier than now. Last summer the 120 p.m. Saturday train to Ppekakariki was extended to Otaki. This met the convenience .ot those week-endera who were unable to catch the 12.15 p.m. The former tram is being reintroduced as from 21st mstant.
