ESPERANTO CLUB.
The weekly meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Club took place last night in the V.M.C.A., Mr. B. C. Jack presiding. A letter was read from Mr. W. H. King, secretary of the New Zealand Esperanto Association, in connection with a proposed New Zealand Esperanto Congress to take place in Wellington about the middle of January. After discussion it was decided to suggest to the association that the congress take place on 17th and 18th January. A conversation class occupied the first portion of the evening. The programme in the. second half was very entertaining. Mr. Jack gave an Esperanto item entitled "Poetic and Prosaic Sides of Life." Mrs. C. Leek presented a Shakesperian piece m Esperanto—"The Seven Ages of Man." Mr. V. Leek contributed an interesting item entitled "La Historio de la Strigiub." Mr. L. E. Dust gave a talk in the international language on "Unu Helpanto Nia.
