BRITISH MANUFACTURERS
The Council of the British (U.K.) Manufacturers' Association of New Zealand, met to-day to welcome Mr. W. C. Guthrie, President of the Australian Association of British Manufacturers, "who is paying a brief visit to New Zealand. Mr. Ashcroft Edwards, President of the New Zealand Association, welcomed the. guest, and referred to the importance of the organisation over which Mr; Guthrie presides, and asked him to convey to his Council in Melbourne, and to the Councils in the other States of Australia, greetings and good wishes from New Zealand.
Mr. Guthrie spoke most interestingly of the work of the branches of the Australian Association of British manufacturers, and of their London Council, of which'they are fortunate in having Sir Arthur Balfour" as Chairman.
It was the unanimous opinion of the meeting (at which nearly every member of the Council was present) that Mr. Guthrie's remarks will be of great help to the New Zealand Association. Mr. Guthrie returns to Melbourne on Friday.
