VICE-REGAL TOUR
BIG GATHERING AT HAMILTON (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAMILTON, 2nd December. A very large gathering was present at Memorial Park this afternoon to bid farewell to Their Excellencies the Governor-General and the Lady Alice Fcrgusson., Tributes were paid by the Mayor and representatives of the returned soldiers and Chamber of Commerce. Sir Charles Fergusson, replying spoke of the noble example of the pioneers and the soldiers. He urged young and old to play their part as Empire-builders. Each should do his duty whatever the sacrifice. As the men at the war had done their duty so should each in his daily work. As long as work was done "in the right spirit all counted the same, whether showy or humble.
PALMERSTON N., This Day. To-day the Governor-General "and Lady Alice Fergusson paid a farewell visit to Palmerston North. This morning His Excellency visited the Boys' High School, the Technical School and the Girls' High School, and delivered addresses. This afternoon he is to unveil the Medical Corps Memorial at Awapum, visit the library, and unveil the memorial to the late Sir James Wilson at the Hospital.
