WEDDINGS

The wedding of Jessie Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Baxter, of Derwent street, Island Bay (formerly of Picton), and James, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. Clark, of Invereargill, was solemnised at tho Island Bay Presbyterian Church. The Eev. G. Ireland officiated, and the -service was fully choral. Mr. Keys played the Wedding March. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a dainty frock of satin beaute and silver lace. Her beautiful veil was arranged close to the head and held in place with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of roses, azalias, sweet peas, and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Misses C. E. and A. Baxter and Miss A. Clark, wore full-flared frocks of crepe de chine and georgette with picture hats to match in powder blue and apricot, and each carried a bouquet to tone. They also wore dainty antique- necklaces, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. E. Sherman was best man, and Mr. S. Baxter groomsman. A reception was held after the ceremony where the bride's parents received about eighty guests. Mrs. Baxter, wore a frock of ivory satin marocain, and a hat to match. The mother of the bridegroom was in black satin, and cream lace,'and a hat to tone, and both carried posies of cream roses. Musical items were rendered by some of the guests, and later Mr. and Mrs. James Clark left for the North, the bride wearing a powder blue frock of crepe charmain, and a beige coat and hat to match, also a cream fox fur,-the'gift of the bridegroom.
