Victor M'Lagleu, Lois Moran, and Nick Stewart- have the chief roles in the flne drama "The" River" Pirate," which is at present being, shown at tho\Artcraft Theatre. It.is the-story of a youth who is committed to a reform school, 'where he is officially taught sailmaklug, but learns the workings of the underworld as.. well. His instructor, a hard-boiled sailor, is paroled, helps the boy escape, and they join in piracy on a largo scale, hauntlug the drab coves of the waterfront, slipping jn and out of huge warehouses and disposing of their stolen material to dishonest dealers, yet always fearing the harbour police, with whom they engage In many thrilling battles of wit and body. The younger boy falls in love with the daughter of their nemesis, a detective, and in thy end she regenerates him.
