RETURNS FROM ELSEWHERE

AUCKLAND, Ist December.

Customs revenue and tiro tax for November totalled £232,401, compared with £191,790 last November, and £179,460 in November, 1927. The total for the eleven months of this year is £2,238,459, compared with £2,014,877 in 1928. Motor spirit duty collected in November totalled £26,193, compared with £23,194 in November last year. For the eleven months the total is £295,288, compared with £209,449 last year. Beer duty collected in November amounted to £10,863, a decrease of £64 from the figures for November last year.

DUNEDIN, Ist December. For the month ended yesterday tho amount of Customs duty received at tho Dunedin office was £78,037 3s 2d, and the amount of beer duty £21,397 6s lOd.

During the corresponding month of last year £76,972 7s 5d was received in Customs duty, and £19,497 11s 4d in beer duty. '

The amount of petrol tax received during tho month was £5920 Gs 4d, and £1431 12s was received by way of tire tax. Last year in November £804 11s was received for tire tax, and £3740 2s 4d for petrol tax.
