We are over mountains now on return trip, and starting down to land" The next bulletin was: "Departure from mountains 6 o clock for Little America. Flying well. Motors fine" An hour later came: "About a hundred miles north of the mountains. Another hour later: "About, twenty miles south of the crevasse area. Flying well. Motors fine."
