KING'S THEATRE.
Bright music and catchy airs are featured in "The Innocents of Paris," the season of which lias been extended at the King's Theatre. The main character in the picture is Maurice Chevalier, the idol of France. A3 a dweller in a poor part of Paris, ■Mourice becomes popular in his singing with lii? own friends, and when he finds that his station in life is a bar to his happiness he decides to try his fortune on the stage. He is more successful than even he thought he would be, and overnight becomes a famous revue star. With Ills fame, however, comes the danger of his losing his happiness, and Maurice is prepared to sacrifice his own wonderful career to secure his happiness. Maurice Chevalier is supported by a strong cast, which includes Sylvia Beecher, George Fawcett, Margaret Livingston, and John lllljan. The short subject section of the programme is interesting and varied.
A return season -will take place at tho King's Theatre of "Fox Movietone Follies of 1920," a musical comedy production which enjoyed a successful run at both the De Luxe and Paramount Theatres. "Fox Follies" opens next Friday for a one week's season. Nine young screen and stage favourites liead the list of principals. They arc Sue Carol, Lola Lane, .Sharon Lynn, Dixie Lee, John Breeden, David Percy, David llolllns, Frank Bichardson, and Ktepin Fetchit. Miss Carol has a good voice, and can dance as well as the most talented. Her chief specialty in tho Fox Movietone Follies is "Tho Breakaway," a new song and dance number of distinct originality. Miss Lano was the girl in the Fox Movietone all-talking feature "Speakeasy." Slie came to pictures from Broadway. Sho sings the "Big City Blues" in tho Follies. Breeden entered the theatrical life in Vienna, and later was in a Mas Keinhardt company in Berlin. Ho is (he owner of the show in tho story the Follies tells. Miss Lee is the girl who scored so tremendously on Broadway singing the " 'Varsity Drag" number in "Good News." In the- Follies she is heard leading the "Why Can't I lie Like You" number. Percy, a baritone, studied voice under Emma Eames. liolllns will lie remembered for his roles in "Tho High School Hero," "Win That Girl," "Prep and Tep." Frank Kichardson is a former singer ot big-time vaudeville and musical comedy.
