AUCKLAND, Ist December. J.'redenck George Devey, aged 42 a carpenter, is xv hospital with a wound in Ins throat in a serious condition He was found at a house in Morning' side whore Ids wife, who is separated from him, lives. Neighbours heard screams from the house early last evening, and Mrs.. Devey and her young child later ra.tt outside. A neighbour found Devey o;o the floor of the kitchen wounded in tlte throat ana a knife nearby. Mrs. Devey alleges sho was thrashed by heir husband with a poker whereupon sho ran outside. '
