MOUNT CARMEL CLUB

The official opening of the Mount Carmel Club of two courts on the Mount Carlncl Catholic Church grounds at Hataitai was performed on Saturday by Father Connolly in the presence of a large gathering of members, their friends, and visitors from other clubs. An excellent afternoon tea was served in the schoolroom, which is also connected with the church. Mr. Searle, president of the Hataitai Tennis Club, wished the new club every success and prosperity, and assured its members that they could rely on the support of his club should they at any time need it. Father Connolly then hit the first ball over the net.
