(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day. Between 200 and 300 people attended the practically exclusive Maori ceremony of the re-opening of the carved house of Hotonui, which was removed from Parawai, the Hauraki tribal centre, to bo preserved in the Memorial Museum. After a party of Maoris had exreised any bad spirits that'might have taken refuge in the carved house, tho Governor-General and Lady Alice Fergusson were accorded a typical Maou welcome, and tho aged Mita T-aupopoki conveyed greetings from the Arawas.
Presentation of Maori treasures were made to Sir Charles and Lady Alice, and for Sir Edwin Mitchelson.
