ST. ANDREW'S, LEVIN

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Levin, was held on Wednesday night, when tho Bey. E. Crocket presided- over a large attendance. The session report, submitted by Mr. W. Davie, showed steady progress. It was regretted that the minister (the Bey. B. Crocket) had. to,resign owing to-health reasons. 'Beference was made to his splendid pulpit ministrations and work. ; Mr. A. Bodley read the managers' report and the financial statement, which showed that the finances were in a healthy condition. Over £1200 had passed through the hands of the treasurer. The Sunday school report was. given by-the superintendent (Mr. J. W. Bishop). The ladies' guild, the P.W.M.TL, and the Busy Bees' reports mentioned that good work had been accomplished during the year and over £35 sent' to missions. For the ensuing'year the retiring managers were re-elected, with the addition of two new members, Messrs. Eyrie and Fallon.

During the evening the session clerk presented the minister with an illuminated address and a pocket book containing a wallet of notes, arid • made fit-^ ting references .to the splendid work carried on by the minister and his wife during the past four years.. Mr. Thrope, treasurer of the Otaki Church, said that it was the ;Bev. E. Crocket's- steady work that made possible the erection of the church in Otaki; and asked him to accept a travelling rug and cushion for Mrs. Crocket as a "mark of esteem from the Otaki people. Miss Nichol, on behalf of the senior Bible class, asked Mr. Crocket to accept, a set of gold sleeve-links, suitably inscribed. A duet was contributed by Mesdames Jennings and Ince; after which the ladies dispensed a dainty supper, bringing to a close one of the most successful annual gatherings held in St. Andrew's.
