ST. JOSEPH'S ORPHANAGE SALE
To-morrow night the Mayor (Mr. G A lroup) will formally open the sale of work on behalf of the funds of St. Joseph's Orphanage. The Sisters and a committee of ladies have been working strenuously for this sale or work, and the stalls will be laden with useful and artistic needlework and other articles. An excellent programme has bser: arranged for each evening. To-morrow r.ight the V.M.C.A. troupe of gymnasts, under Mr. J. A. Duffy, will give an exhibition. Patrons will be helping on a; great charitable work It is difficult for the Sisters, with no fixed revenue, to cater for the needs of some three hundred helpless orphans. They have to depend on the generosity of the public to carry on, and it speaks well for the people of Wellington that by their support the institution has been kept going for the past fifty years. The committee is confident that through this sale of work a substantial sum will be raised
